On Sunday 24^th March, we hosted a Music for Youth regional event.  We are one of only 35 centres to be asked to host one of these events, from across the whole of the UK.

The day itself saw performances from a variety of ensembles from across Devon, some of which included Devon Youth Choir, Devon Youth Jazz Orchestra and Teignmouth Youth Choir.  The event was organised by the Devon Music Education Hub and we were asked if our own Soul Band would perform.  Each performance was listened to and appraised by two Music for Youth mentors, who are both professional working musicians.  The feedback we received for our performance was very encouraging and could possibly open the door to an invite to perform at the national event in Birmingham, later on this year.

The whole day presented a real opportunity for enrichment for local young musicians, with over 100 people performing throughout the day.
